We are very happy to announce that the SourceMod Anti-Cheat (SMAC) team has just released a new version of their software that supports Nuclear Dawn.

SourceMod Anti-Cheat (formerly known as Kigen Anti-Cheat) is a plugin based system comprised of different modules to help protect your gameserver against common threats, hacks, scripts, exploits, commands, cvars, or cheats currently being used today to cause your servers harm.

It protects your gameserver from most if not all of the common problems you would see on any gameserver and takes actions against those who cause the problems.

Installing SMAC is really simple. Make sure you are running SourceMod on your server and after this just download the SourceMod Anti-Cheat core and any of the extra plugins you would like to use! We recommend NOT installing the anti-wallhack module as it is too cpu intensive!

Anti-Wallhack

What a year this has been. It started with the madness of development, and the culmination of three years of work. Nuclear Dawn's release, the patches and fixes, and finally the free weekend on Steam last week.

Bells are jingling, and reindeer are pulling jolly old men through the sky, though, and we're going to take the chance to sit back and enjoy our families and loved ones.

Fret not, however, we'll be back in full swing come the next year, to regroup, and get right back to the awesome business of making games!

2011 was a challenging, amazing experience. 2012 promises to be at least as exciting!

In preparation of next weeks Free weekend on Steam (Dec 15-18), we have just submitted the latest update 5 to the Steam servers, for Nuclear Dawn. This latest update adds a brand new Training mode to learn the basics of the game from both the FPS and RTS side. It also adds a new Squad Assist system where players will receive bonuses for healing, capturing resources, and kill assists.

Commander Graduate achievement

This is a special achievement earned by completing all of the interactive RTS training. In live games, players who have this achievement will have priority over candidates who did not complete training.

Career Page

Added a “Career” page to the main menu for viewing your player stats, including upcoming general and class-specific unlocks.

Santa Hats

Added Santa hats which will run though the holidays - starting 19th December. Server admins can control the behavior with the following CVar:

nd_xmas - 0 = Hats disabled - 1 = Hats only for commanders - 2 = Hats for EVERYONE!
